Abstract:

The Thesis aims to analyse a sector of great economic importance for Italy, the Textile-Clothing sector; it is in fact the second largest manufacturing sector in Italy, representing about 10% of the Italian manufacturing value added. In spite of its priority role in the economy, the textile sector is the subject of much attention with regard to the sustainability of the various phases that make up its supply chain. The Thesis will highlight how the sustainability factor can represent a source of competitive advantage in facing cost competition, shortening the supply chain and, obviously, meeting the Green Deal. In conclusion, a case study will be analysed concerning the industrial reconversion of a textile production site into an eco-sustainable production from industrial waste.
