Abstract:

Definition of an innovative model to estimate the level of deterioration of a used vehicle, in particular its statistics reliability, starting from the analysis of failure data. The work has the vehicle itself as reference object and it is detailed in its main components and sub-systems with the ultimate aim of providing the modeling and the quantification of a global index (PDR) of system’s reliability. The final result of the project is the definition of the statistical model in the form of an application software (PDR Toolbox) with a user-friendly interface that allows a direct interaction with the customer. Together with a strong emphasis on statistical framework and algorithms’ description, business exploitation of the innovative concept of PDR is also discussed by presenting a potential business model and the competitive advantage for car dealers and other stakeholders involved in the initiative.
