Abstract:

INTRODUCTION

How it is possible to achieve the best design and introduce new elements into an existing context in urban, in one hand, achieve an energy sustainable pattern for planning new neighborhood and improving the city, in the other hand, rising public awareness in conjunction with climatic and social-cultural problems in their country and city also global problems related to Global warming and increased Greenhouse gases. Numerous researches have been carried out with focus on these two fields separately. The ability to bridge these two issues and answer them both regarding energy aspect of the sustainability is the core investigation of this article. How to plan and design new elements in the city context in a way that the new elements improve the entire neighborhood energy performance and its sustainability is the main question to be discussed in this paper. In order to achieve this goal, different urban morphological factors, which have great influence on energy consumption of the city as a single entity, are investigated as based on complexity analysis. In this analysis, the urban morphology and urban development over the years are considered as the microscopic emergence of the city element's transformation in time. So in the beginning, "'Morphology of Iranian traditional" is introduced because in surrounding of them the city has begun to shaping up. In the fallowing ''Emergence of Urban Planning in Iran" has been explained over the time (With a brief explanation just for better understanding the urbanization in Iran.) and after is stated development of Isfahan city as a representative of the other cities on the hot and dry climate in Iran and so, that's why the project site is chosen in this city. Isfahan is an important, industrial and touristic city in Iran where has been capital for some decades in the past.

This paper is divided to two chapters:

The first chapter that is as a research paper about Isfahan existing and developing of it during the period of the time since of appearance of the city until current time. The aim of this chapter is achieve to a correct model of sustainable urban development specifically in relation to orientation and placement of a residential unit and thus achieve the correct shape of a neighborhood in hot and dry climate. In order to achieve this goal is essential to understand changes in city over the years and error diagnosis of the existing morphologies of the city. In this chapter is stated transformation of Isfahan city as a traditional city to modem and industrial city but during modernization its variation have been gone on the wane and the city has been developed unsuitable form.

The second chapter is about planning and designing of a proposed neighborhood residential as a model in hot and dry climates in modem Iran with sustainable approach and the use of traditional architecture indicators. This project could be a proposal model for the development of the city in a sustainable manner in future for providing an appropriate suburban for deployment future technology in itself. Also in this chapter has explained about typology and morphology of residential building on the climate hot and dry in Iran.
