Abstract:

The automotive industry has always been subject to high-complexity challenges. The last year has been no different, e.g., it has been constrained by the semiconductor crisis and the high cost of energy and thus raw material. Understanding internal processes and identifying non-value-added activities is necessary to remain competitive. This thesis work initially focuses on schematizing the processes of different resources operating in the Dayco Europe plant in Ivrea using BPMN diagrams. Lastly, Lean manufacturing principles are applied, through this several critical issues derived from internal processes are identified. As results to this analysis, several proposals have emerged to achieve a more streamlined process.
