Abstract:

Digital technologies enable workforce productivity and business process optimization. Companies must adopt advanced technologies to become more resilient and agile. The most effective approach for the future is to leverage integrated and extensible digital platforms, which offer excellent value today and are ready to quickly adapt to the new business requirements of the future. It is critical for organizations pursuing a holistic business transformation to integrate advanced cloud communication and collaboration solutions with important workflows, to improve key performance metrics in a more tangible way, such as employee productivity, operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction. The goal of this work is to develop and implement a digital tool, for G.E. Avio Aero, to record all the defects found on the components during testing, so that you have a history of them and can initiate corrective actions on the management of them or the processes that generate them. This recalling the principles of Lean Manufacturing related to the elimination of any type of waste during the production process, in order to reduce costs and operating times and highlight the importance of having a digital data. Once the tool was shared with the operators and after a training phase, we noticed the exponential growth of the database that allowed a quality approach to the continuous improvement of the process using the Six Sigma methodology. In addition, the work opens many doors to possible improvements also from the digital point of view, as the tool in the future can be integrated with the entire IT environment of the company so as to have an increasingly complete and efficient data collection.
