Abstract:

Many small business owners believe that project management is only relevant for large, enterprise-level organizations. In reality, however, project management is essential for every business that values attaining objectives and completing tasks on time and within budget. Using this criteria, it becomes readily apparent that project management may be even more crucial for small business, given that time and money are finite resources. Using project management software comes as one of the best solutions for small businesses since it allows teams to simply perform typical project management functions and to identify risks throughout the project from the beginning. Whether working remotely or in an office, project management software assists small businesses in allocating resources, adhering to deadlines, and monitoring project progress. This indispensable application consolidates data, discussions, files, and assets into a single source of truth. Most computer platforms may take advantage of a wide range of project management software solutions. Companies cannot simply choose one from an online catalog without first doing an in-depth analysis of their requirements. This thesis shows that companies are missing out on a valuable management tool if they do not use project management software to help them with their project work. Those that plan and communicate their initiatives by hand or with the aid of a word processor, spreadsheet program, or other manual means are wasting their time. They do not have to be a project management or computer whiz to use today's project management software, nor do they need to be working on huge or difficult projects. Through this thesis, the main idea and objective is to propose the new and proper project management software because, in today's competitive world, every company must manage and control projects while maintaining an ambidextrous approach to their competitive advantage in order to survive and grow in comparison to their market competitors. This thesis employs an Italian corporation specializing in plasma technology with an emphasis on circular economy as its case study. And the question is, which of these software is best suited for the company? One project management software was chosen after identifying the most important features that the targeted company needs to perform the project management tasks along with the company's objectives; meanwhile, the organizational structure of the company is another success engine to be able to overcome competitors in the innovative market; thus, ambidexterity is an essential concept for short- and long-term corporate performance, causing companies to obtain high rates of success. The results added project management software to the list of project success variables by proving through the research and literature reviews that project management software increases the efficiency of project professionals and has a favorable impact on the outcomes of their projects.
