Abstract:

This thesis work includes four essential parts in "The Ecuadorian economy and its main reforms of the 90s and its balance" as we could detail: The first chapter illustrates a broader detail of the Republic of Ecuador, its main characteristics such as the infrastructure of the economy and figures. Chapter two describes the situation of the Republic of Ecuador in the 90s and with previous consecutive governments, such as: uncontrolled inflation, growing foreign debt and exchange deficit, exports, international reserves and adding to other factors that affected the economy of the country and all the important points because they left the Republic of Ecuador in a total crisis and the situation because during 10 years the country changed 7 presidents and therefore they had become one of the countries with the highest rates of poverty including the point of unemployment in Latin America. The third chapter covers the entire implementation process. Therefore, in the Republic of Ecuador, the Economic Program was based on the Principles of the Central Bank of Ecuador since they had a main role. Also the series of reforms that proposed, among others, the deregulation of the labor market and the minimization of the State, according to Bresser Pereira (State reform - 1998), without leaving behind the opening to foreign investment. The fourth chapter is an evaluation of the results of the implementation of the reforms, on the macroeconomic performance in the region, growth prospects, a welcoming investment environment and a continuous reduction of the existing poverty rates. Hence, the downside is entrenched corruption and the widening gap between rich and poor during that trajectory. From the development of this dissertation of this work, the possibility of a greater understanding of the process of change in the Ecuadorian State in the 90s is opened and more importantly, it is intended to give an analysis on the implications of how this crisis came to be reached, which I lead to a world disorder.
