Abstract:

DETERMINANTS OF FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS IN INDIA. The main purpose of this research is study about the determinants of FDI in India. In the present era of globalisation, the role of FDI for any country’s economic development is crucial and with this aim in mind, this study has focused on the determinants of foreign direct investment in India. The first chapter will focus on the conceptual framework of FDI globally and gives a brief idea about its trends in India. The main focus of this study is to provide an insight into the India’s approach towards FDI and its determinants. The second chapter will provide the information regarding top sector contributions; country break ups of FDI and explains the routes of FDI into India. An analysis of a particular sector has also being shown here.The next chapter is about the motivational factors and location decision variables for the foreign enterprises to start their business and do direct investments in the states of Republic of India. The later sections of the study emphasis on the policy changes to attract FDI in India and explains how past decisions has affected the inflows of FDI.
