Abstract:

The thesis offers a contribution to the iXemWine project, which aims to create an innovative platform for vineyard farming. The goal of the project is represented by a radical transformation of traditional weather monitoring, towards a pervasive, ubiquitous, continuous, real-time and universal access to micrometeorological analyses, based on a low-cost digital divide disruption in the countryside. The iXemWine paradigm is based on the creation of an open-access, long distance wireless sensor network made of easily accessible plug-and-play nodes . The work of the thesis will be focused on the development of the end-device, in particular the power management unit, both from the hardware and software points of view.
