IoT framework development for Matter protocol.
Rel. Edoardo Patti. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Informatica (Computer Engineering), 2023
Abstract: |
This thesis work is the result of the internship at NXP Semiconductors, a technology company leader in providing products and services to the IoT market. The objective of the project is to contribute to the Software Development Kit (SDK) of the company, improving the test framework and some already existing modules and developing and enabling a new component in the context of a Matter application running on a NXP board, precisely the RW612. This component is responsible for the managing of keys with their associated value between RAM and flash memories. Its name is “Key Storage”: it allows the separation of tasks within the SDK and introduces some optimisations related to RAM memory usage and time to write in flash. Finally, it is used in the execution of a Matter application, replacing the old components. Matter is a new application layer standard which aims to create secure connections between smart things in connected homes and enable interoperability between different kinds of devices. NXP adopts Matter to foster innovation and contribute to the growth of IoT. |
