Abstract:

The aim of this master's thesis project has been the development of a Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) to be inserted into a retrofit kit for the electrification of ICE-based vehicles. The VCU is the main controller in the electric vehicles (EVs) powertrain domain and implement: torque management strategies, recharging operation, battery pack thermal management along with fail-safe operations for functional safety.
