Abstract: |
This work aims to expose what strategic role and direct contribution logistics has assumed over the years in business management, especially in the cases of companies that work on orders, or manufacturing activities. Will be indicated research and studies on the new concept of logistics, of Supply Chain Management which focuses on the set of processes managed in the field of logistics that integrate the company with its suppliers and customers, in order to obtain greater advantages in terms of competitiveness and costs. Specifically, the objective of the project will concern the redefinition of the customer service strategy, which has led, first of all, to embrace new stocking policies as a function of an adjustment of the service level to changed environmental conditions, associated with a set to zero the level of stocks held in the warehouse and secondly, the thesis work will analyze the feeding methods of the production plants. The following paper was drawn up following an internship experience carried out at the COSTAT production plant (TO). The research undertaken began with the analysis of the organization of the COSTAT company, a family company in the automotive sector that works on order, and how the new concept of logistics could be applied in this. The internship opportunity for the company was part of a particularly extensive and long-term project aimed at improving the logic of releasing production orders and defining work sequences in the various departments of the company. This study led on the one hand to the definition of a standard level of stocks and, on the other hand, to the design of a Kanban supply system for codes that had the appropriate characteristics. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter aims to retrace the studies carried out in the literature on logistics, from the 1950s to the present day. If in the early years logistics were simply identified in physical distribution, over the years it begins to take on more and more of its own identity. The second chapter explores the theme of companies that work on order. After having distinguished the various types of orders and how these companies can be organized so that the project is well managed, it is highlighted how in this type of production the partnership between suppliers and customers is fundamental. The research concludes with the third chapter, highlighting how to deal with a redesign of the warehouse, evaluating the introduction of logistics systems and highlighting how collaboration between suppliers and customers is essential for a greater presence on the market. |
