Abstract: |
The old streets of the city are the recorders of urban history and the witnesses of urban development. However, in the process of rapid social development, old streets have become a neglected factor, accumulating many problems at multiple levels. They are subject to the early planning idea, economy, construction and other conditions of the restriction. Residential constructions often only cater to the social status quo and people's living needs at that time, which is inconsistent with the rapid development of modern city construction. A lot of attention is paid to the physical level construction, neglecting the social level problems. This may cause the loss of regional spirit and culture characteristics. In recent years, the reconstruction of old urban street has become a hot issue of social concern. One-size-fits-all problem solving is unrealistic for old neighborhoods. In the process of dealing with the problem of renewal, it is necessary to analyze and solve the problem from multiple perspectives. This thesis takes a representative historic old street—Dongguan Street in Dalian as the research object. It combines urban renewal and sociological theory. It excavates the problems existing in the physical and social space of the area, proposing corresponding solutions. The hope is to strike a perfect balance between old style and modern standards. This thesis will be divided into 7 chapters (the last chapter is conclusion), offering a path from background reconstruction, literature review, methodology, research, transformation strategy, reconstruction design, etc. It understands the space of the old street as two aspects of physical space and social space. Based on the idea of sustainable utilization and development, we attach importance to the continuation of regional spiritual culture, traditional history and resident needs. Taking the space reconstruction method as a means, solving problems through reasonable design strategies, realizing the goal of coordinated development of the physical space and social space . Based on the research theory of sociology, from a macro and micro perspective, through analysis of changes in population composition, changes in regional social functions and culture, etc., based on survey and qualitative semi-structured interviews, it summarizes the impact of social space reconstruction. Dynamically protect social space, protect its healthy and orderly development environment, strive to reintegrate the old physical space environment into modern life, realize the common needs of urban organic renewal and harmonious social development. Activate the unique collective memory of the city, continue its own cultural value and regional characteristics. Bring a sense of belonging and happiness to residents. The fundamental reason why a city can have a centripetal attraction to people can be attributed to the fact that the buildings, streets, even a threshold here, each flower and tree can substitute the human feeling into it, so that people can walk in. With the users of space-people as the core, it will bring them a better life experience. |
