Abstract:

This work is the result of a 6 months internship at Sabelt S.p.A., during which the candidate developed a project for the application of the Lean Production principles to a selected Production Line. With the ultimate goal to define a work method able to simplify and standardize future applications of Lean Manufacturing to other production lines and to guarantee homogenized working procedures within the Manufacturing Plant. An overview about Lean Production is made in chapter 2, deepening the topics faced in our work. In chapter 3 is provided a preliminary explanation of the working context. Firstly, describing the history of the company and then the product with the process and the production line under investigation. Chapter 4 deals with the explanation of the whole project, making a detailed description for each of the six phases followed. Finally, the conclusions of this project are stated in chapter 5. Underlying the obtained results and providing some suggestion points for further development.
