Abstract: |
This work presents a study that improves the welding efficiency of the UAM machine (Ultrasonically Additive Manufacturing) with a clamp that helps to reduce the walking problem and an analytical optimization criteria for a linear Euler-Bernoulli beam with an embedded piezoelectric layer for harvesting and sensing purposes. The analytical work has two objectives: (i) a better understanding of the behavior of a smart structure under a base excitation, (ii) Find an optimal configuration that allows the maximum voltage harvesting from a PVDF smart structure with different geometries and materials. |
