Combustor module data analysis and elaboration improvement through automatization tools.

Rel. Dario Giuseppe Pastrone. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Aerospaziale, 2020

Abstract:

Engine tests are a key step in the process of certification of an aircraft engine. During the tests, the Combustor module is instrumented with pressure and temperature probes and many data are collected. Data analysis activities include the assessment of data quality, which is necessary to provide support during the test (by monitoring the field of operations) and to calculate the average values of the variables of interest. These values are used to evaluate the performance of the module and to provide other teams with important parameters related to integration between engine modules. This process could be very dispendious in terms of time. The thesis objective is to support the Combustor Validation Lead developing automatic data analysis tools in Excel VBA in order to speed up the analysis and reduce the engineer workload.
