Definition of Key Performance Indicators and Development of a Model to evaluate the performances of Project Managers.

Rel. Alberto De Marco. Politecnico di Torino, UNSPECIFIED, 2024

Abstract:

The proposed thesis arose from the business need to develop an accurate method for evaluating project managers. In order to fulfill the purpose of the thesis, first an analysis of the literature regarding the topic was carried out with the description and presentation of different methods and then researching existing models, with similar purposes, from which insights and guidance could be drawn. Subsequently, through an analysis of the actions carried out by project managers and all the aspects that involve them in the implementation of a project, Key Performance Indicators were identified through which to evaluate them, also defining relative and appropriate measurement scales. The heart of the thesis, in addition to this identification, involved the development of a model that integrates the identified indicators and allows for an objective and comprehensive assessment of the performance of project managers within companies. Finally, the developed model was tested on some completed company projects in order to verify its validity and relevance to the reality of the results obtained.
