Redesign of a ball valve: parameters optimization and automation of the production process.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyze a highly influential production process in the market, with the aim of improving all the production phases starting from the design of the component itself up to the stamping. In this interval, there are phases in which there really are bottlenecks due to design problems or systematic/ organizational. The work done is aimed at a great attention to detail in order to create a continuous process and adapting it to a new solution much more technological, making it partly automated through the use of robots. The latter is possible only if you design with an automating optic that allows a fluidity during the production phase. In particular, the components taken into account are precisely the valves, for the purposes of the realization there are constraints given by the component itself, for example the overmolding that allows the total fusion of two components, the latter very difficult to analyze. So a possible solution has been sought that puts all these features in the foreground.
