Abstract:

Combining point cloud surveys with virtual reality technology revolutionizes building renovation. The surveys capture precise geometric data, allowing for accurate representations of the existing structure. This data is then utilized in immersive virtual reality presentations, enabling stakeholders to visualize proposed renovations effectively. Communication and understanding among project teams are enhanced, while design issues and conflicts are identified early on, minimizing costly errors during construction. Stakeholders can provide feedback and make informed decisions, ensuring the final renovated building meets their requirements. By integrating point cloud surveys and virtual reality, the design process becomes more streamlined, collaboration is improved, and project outcomes are optimized. This innovative approach brings efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with stakeholder expectations to building renovation projects.
