Abstract:

This thesis is based on an internship experience at the Airbus Atlantic Rochefort factory, where I worked in the Industrial Methods department as a direct report to the Head Of Manufacturing Technologies. Throughout the internship, I worked on three primary projects, providing support as data analyst and process engineer. While the first two concerned the definition, standardization and improvement of the activities relating to the Lynx control system and the programming of automatic riveting machines, the third one related to the transition from the MyRequest tool to the one called Request For Support (covering both requests for equipment and services). The overarching goal was to optimize various internal processes, enhance workflow monitoring, and reduce inefficiencies in daily operations. Via an AS-IS state analysis, the definition of proper KPIs and the proposals for process improvements, all goals have been achieved, with positive long-term economic impacts. The document structure includes an introduction, a brief description of the Company and the Industrial Methods department, an overview of internship activities in Chapter 3, and detailed descriptions of them in Chapters 4 and 5. The conclusion summarizes key results and offers reflections on the internship's overall development. The appendices contain additional materials that could not be included in the main body of the dissertation.
