Abstract:

The following thesis examines heat transfer through TPMS realized by AM. Both a study of a laminar and a turbulent configuration with different boundary condition has been conducted using the CFD software OpenFOAM. A code to code benchmark using conjugate heat transfer solvers is provided using a native polyhedral mesh for Star-CCM+ and a native hexahedral mesh for OpenFOAM, meanwhile on the same polyhedral mesh a benchmark between Star-CCM+, Ansys Fluent and OpenFOAM has been conducted using an incompressible solver.
