The present thesis work aims to resolve some critical issues encountered in the design phase of a competition electric vehicle (ZER: Zero Emissions Record) whose main purpose is to achieve the distance record traveled in one hour on the Nardò test track. The methodology, used in the approach and resolution of the various problems, consists of an analytical study and subsequent analysis using software such as Matlab, Simulink and CarSim for dynamic simulation. This approach concerns the study of battery pack, the creation of the vehicle model and the circuit characteristics, as well as the analysis of lateral dynamics with different tire configurations and sizing of the braking system. The results obtained were taken into consideration during the design phase and therefore contributed to the realization of the prototype. Furthermore, the correlation, in terms of obtained results, was verified between the analytical models used in Matlab and the simulations in the CarSim environment. |
