| Abstract: |
The global energy transition has recently driven innovation in power electronics and electrification, leading to major technological progress. This thesis focuses on the DC-Link, a critical component present in the electrical powertrain, and aims to build and develop the methods to describe a model capable of capturing its behavior. The proposed study follows the analysis of the DC-Link and its constituent parts, starting from a 3D FEA of the bus bars to characterize their electrical and magnetic properties, and describing the capacitors with a circuit model that was generated from a dedicated algorithm developed to extract the model from the impedance measurements. Following an optimization process, the results of these two analyses were merged to create an integrated DC-Link model, which offers an equivalent circuit representation appropriate for system-level simulations. The resulting models aim to support the component analysis and DC-Link performance evaluation. |
