Abstract:

The study on battery technology has become one of the main themes of the current and future developments of the automotive industry. While the research is focused on new battery chemistries and packaging technologies, it is also important to optimize the repairability of the products available on the market today. The advent of battery electric vehicles has set a new standard in the repair process, which in turn would benefit of a targeted optimization. In this thesis it is firstly carried out the analysis of the repair cases concerning the battery pack of the Porsche Taycan, the first fully electric production car of Porsche. After a thorough examination of the technology of the battery components, and the evaluation of the cases, the thesis work made clear the need for a tool to quickly generate a technical and graphical analysis of the most important battery parameters. In the end, the result is an Excel model file that allows to import the specific vehicle analysis file employed by Porsche, providing useful analyses and graphs to the user, with the objective of reducing to the minimum the risk of faults or repeated repairs.
