Abstract: |
Monitoring the water and vegetation resources using satellite images on Alps mountain area due to climate change Climate change has significantly impacted natural ecosystems, particularly in sensitive mountainous regions such as the Alps. This study focuses on monitoring water and vegetation resources in the Alpine region using satellite imagery, specifically data from Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8. By analyzing multi-temporal and multispectral satellite data, changes in hydrological patterns and vegetation cover are assessed to understand the effects of climate variability and long-term environmental trends. Key indicators such as snow cover extent, vegetation indices (e.g., NDVI), and surface water distribution are derived from the imagery to evaluate ecosystem responses. The findings reveal spatial and temporal shifts in water availability and vegetation dynamics, providing valuable insights for sustainable resource management and climate adaptation strategies in mountainous environments. |
