Abstract:

This study embarks on an in-depth analysis of project management methodologies, as applied to two distinct projects within the Fink organization. The first of these, Robotic Process Automation for Middle Office Funds, referred to as "RPA-MOF," aligns closely with the core business of Fink. It is an initiative designed to automate a previously manual interest rate management process within a banking institution. It includes the deployment of a bot that performs certain operations automatically and a web application that allows for the review of completed operations. Additionally, the web application provides the functionality to manually resolve exceptional cases that require specific attention. The second, the "Simplead-CRM" project, involves the creation of a platform for retail sales management. This platform is designed to streamline various aspects of the sales process, including contact management, appointment scheduling, and offer tracking. The project encompasses the development of a web application and a Telegram bot that collectively aim to enhance the efficiency and organization of sales operations. It marks a significant departure from the core business focus of Fink company. The research's core objectives are to dissect the project management approaches deployed in these initiatives, to closely examine and evaluate the challenges faced, and the effectiveness of the solutions embraced. Furthermore, it aims to conduct a comparative analysis between the projects' applied methodologies and the theoretical frameworks discussed in existing project management literature. The literature review section provides a critical overview of various project management methodologies, including agile, traditional, and hybrid frameworks. It delves into the nuances of each approach and investigates the critical success factors that contribute to the success of a project. This theoretical exploration sets the stage for the empirical analysis of the Simplead-CRM and RPA-MOF projects, which both adopted a hybrid approach to project management. This approach synergizes the rapid adaptability of agile methods with the structured oversight typical of traditional project management practices. The thesis goes on to critically compare the academic discourse on project management with the concrete experiences gathered from these two Fink projects. The analysis assesses the extent to which the projects adhere to or diverge from academic principles, and it highlights the unique challenges and innovative solutions that were characteristic of each project. In conclusion, this thesis serves as a bridge between scholarly research and practical application in project management. By analyzing the Simplead-CRM and RPA-MOF projects through the lens of established literature, the study provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of hybrid project management methodologies, especially in the context of technology-driven initiatives. The insights gleaned from this research are poised to enrich the field of project management, equipping practitioners and scholars alike with knowledge that can inform the execution and management of future projects in an increasingly complex and technologically dependent business landscape.
