Abstract:

This thesis investigates the difficulties faced by small and medium Italian firms, especially in the tourism industry, in recruiting suitable candidates for open job positions. Both quantitative and qualitative methods are used to analyze this problem. Data from authoritative sources provides insights into the industries most affected, while interviews with stakeholders reveal deeper needs. The key findings of the analysis phase are that companies struggle to find enough qualified candidates, while jobseekers lack visibility into temporary roles. Thus, there is an opportunity for an innovative Software-as-a-Service solution with a scalable business model. A strategy is developed for introducing in the market a new service. Prototyping and usability testing are utilized to design the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and validate the market need. A business plan is created to refine the go-to-market strategy. While this thesis focuses on the pre-launch phase, future work involves seeking funding, deploying a beta version of the service, implementing a marketing strategy to acquire users and iterating the product based on customers' feedback.
