Abstract:

Thanks to its capabilities, potentiality and the overall technological improvements, RADAR systems extends their influence on an increasing and already vast number of areas while offering almost irreplaceable features like remote sensing which gifts electronic systems with the ability to be aware of the external world across various physical dimensions. This demand of highly performing and compact systems has made available to the market integrated System on Chip (SoC) Radar solutions, with ever growing variety and availability. This increasing RADAR capabilities and computational power packed together allows for complex automotive applications to be executed on the SoC, providing automated driver assistance features obtained by more complex data manipulation of the various information computed at each step and originated staring from the raw data gathered after the RF chain. The goal of this project is to develop an effective RADAR tracking routine in order to take into account complex scenarios, like a moving RADAR whose velocity is calculated as Ego Velocity, and to adapt the other parts of the application, in order to make it compatible, functional and convenient to be used in a different context. The tracking performance are evaluated by comparing both the results of the developed tracking algorithm which takes into account the Ego Velocity with respect to the classic one, using the same set of data as input and observing their resulting behaviors.
