Abstract:

China is approaching a stage of urban growth in which renovation and redevelopment are the primary priorities, and the disposal of obsolete industrial structures has emerged as a major social problem. A huge amount of industrial legacy is facing idleness and abandonment as a result of fast economic expansion. In this environment, how could we correctly deal with industrial heritage so that recently abandoned industrial heritage can not only be effectively conserved, but also enhance its reuse value and seamlessly realize the renewal and replacement of urban industrial land, which is of great historical and cultural significance and has tremendous practical significance in realizing the sustainable development of cities? This paper examines the issues surrounding industrial heritage transition in the context of urban renewal in China. The current condition is assessed using government planning, and the potential of industrial legacy is investigated. It also suggests strategies to optimize solutions in the context of the current industrial heritage condition in Luoyang
