Abstract: |
"Driver Health: combining biometrics and autonomous driving to improve road users' safety" The main aim of the thesis is the collection of the driver's biometric data - such as heart rate, blood pressure, etc. – by means of a personal device (e.g., a smartwatch), the analysis of these data and the transmission of the data to the vehicle. By analyzing the biometric data it is possible to estimate the health status of the driver and, in case of any severe criticality (e.g., heart attack), the device provides to the vehicle a trigger signal, able to activate an emergency procedure. The thesis will focus on the design of an HW/SW Proof-of-Concept able to monitor the vital parameters. In particular, the thesis aims to analyze: - The scientific research about the drivers' health - The choice of the best device to measure health data - The strategy for the data collection among drivers - The design, the testing and the validation of a SW architecture to fetch health data - The planning of futher developments |
