Abstract:

In terms of concrete development activities, hardware and software development are very different. As a result, it may appear that Scrum, the Agile process commonly used for software development, would be inappropriate for hardware development. There are many obvious differences between hardware and software development, but the main ones are the characteristics and sequence of deliver- ables. This is due to the fact that hardware and software development are two completely different things. As we know in all the start-ups there are many difficulties such as the lack of professional human resources, time and the most important one there is not enough money for error and trials because the cost of develop- ing a hardware base requires many materials that they are not always very easy and cheap to achieve so they should have an effective management of activities and resource allocation, in software development Lean-agile approach by applying Scrum is one the most optimal ways to reach a good outcome, in this parer the analysis of all the levels of hardware development in a small start-up with a few labours and limited money and time to validate the application of lean and agile methodologies and the impact of them on the output of the company. Lean is concept of doing everything with the minimum waste of resource, time and money and in a start-up it is important to be sure that the final product is what covers all the customer needs because in this way there would be no need to re-design and re-produce so you used the resources in the best way possible, and how it can be done? Agile is a approach to make the companies to have the most communication with the clients and the organisation of all the activities are done to this aim. Scrum is the most common process framework for implementing Agile techniques. It has received a lot of accolades for its ability to boost software development teams’ productivity, efficiency, and quality of work. Scrum for hard- ware development is not as well-liked as other Agile methods; many detractors believe that it has a neutral or even negative impact on the hardware development process. However, several Scrum teams have had success applying Agile principles to hardware development. According to the research done for this paper, the Scrum process is the best way for hardware development, but for a hardware startup, this paper will show you a practical way to do it that’s very similar to how Scrum is used to make software, but there are some modifications needed to do so.
