Abstract:

The study has investigated the dynamic behavior of the NAPL spill and forecasting the position of the generated pool. The study has chosen the chlorinated solvents for the purpose of the spill modelling. The phase partitioning of the contamination through the present phase in the aquifer has been simulated by the software. Several parameters have undergone the sensitivity analysis to conform the feasibility of the mathematical model applied for the simulation of NAPL spill. Meanwhile, two reference scenarios have been developed to mimic the real case NAPL spill incident. the Calibration of the model has been obtained through the Model examination with suitable lithology and hydrodynamic parameter s. Additionally, the study has focused on the remediation efficiency of the polluted site by the primary ex-situ remediation Technology, i.e. Pump and Treat.
