Abstract:

Today’s education for sustainability landscape is full of papers that try to solve problems in a wide variety of ways. Choosing these articles, being able to acquire the correct data from them, and being able to carry out critical analysis of their content is essential to find efficient solution to environmental, ecological, and economic issue. There are many tools and methods that can be used to pursue this task and it is necessary to highlight them because sustainability research utilizes a not clearly defined set of instruments. Science must move beyond classical approaches to face new problematics, but how can it without knowing the right way? So, the thesis purpose is to analyse some of the instruments used in this kind of research, reapply them in a similar research framework, and improve some trying to make them more effective or efficient. Results show how these improvements have been achieved. Methodology used in similar papers will be discussed and compared to the one applied here. Conclusion shows how these tools can be a good starting point for this type of analysis, but it is necessary to know more of them in order to best adapt to the very different challenges that these topics address.
