Abstract: |
This thesis work was born following an internship experience at the company DMI- Divisione Meccanica Industriale s.r.l., working in the field of industrial machinery development and production, prototyping of components and automated systems for various SKF plants around the world. Specifically, the project I was able to work on concerns a revamping process of an entire production line of deep groove ball bearings. I therefore deepened my knowledge of the procedures for defining a layout and the revamping of industrial machinery. During the revamping phase, I focused on the development of techniques that allow increasing the performance of the line by limiting the number of defective and therefore rejected components. At the end of the internship, I studied further topics such as possible future improvements and, again, the future applications of the line in a 4.0 perspective. |
