Rel. Paolo Bernardi. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Informatica (Computer Engineering), 2020

Abstract:

The thesis project aim is to develop a web application for safety metrics based on failure modes, effects, and diagnostic analysis (FMEDA) for Xilinx Versal platform, this allows end users to customize the metrics of Versal component blocks based on their assumptions of use and configuration, obtaining a detailed report with Functional Safety reliability metrics according to ISO 26262. The application is made of a back-end, developed in python using flask, and a front-end, initially developed in Excel and VBA but then changed for a more performing, structured and modern-looking Typescript application with the Angular framework. The development process started with Insight, the pre-existent python tool developed by Xilinx for internal use. From that the thesis work begun with the definition of methods for the customization of existing data structures at run time, followed by the definition of REST APIs to expose the data needed for the application, realization of the first front-end for testing, filtering of public details, realization of the second front-end with added functionalities and more attention to user-experience.
