Abstract: |
This thesis is about the study of ADAS systems and their application in real driving scenarios with the goal to reproduce them in a simulative environment based on a static simulator infrastructure with the use of virtual simulated sensors. The first part is dedicated to the review of documentation about ADAS systems: concepts behind them are introduced and the main social, legal and technical aspects are investigated. Then European Community ADAS related projects are presented since their outcomes are the basis for the following development of logics and maneuvers. After that, the simulation infrastructure is developed. Firstly it is stated why a virtual environment can be used and why it is convenient. Then static simulator archetype is presented in terms of hardware layout and functionality logics. Finally, software used to simulate the scenarios and sensors, and the 15 degrees of freedom vehicle dynamics model, based on a commercial Segment E luxury car, are presented. Previous parts give the needed information for the development of chosen maneuvers. This activity involved the integration and modification of existent actuation logics with the simulator infrastructure and with the simulated sensors through a newly designed understanding logic. Finally, results of simulation sessions, performed with professional drivers on-board, are presented and discussed. |
