Spares Costing in the aviation world - The case of ATR Aircraft.
Rel. Alessandro Chiaraviglio. Politecnico di Torino, Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria Della Produzione Industriale E Dell'Innovazione Tecnologica, 2019
Abstract: |
The thesis talks about the project I have been carrying out during my last four months of internship within ATR Aircraft, a company that manufactures and produces aircrafts of medium range (around 50 seats per aircraft). In particular, the project speaks about the amelioration of a process already consolidated in the company, which involves the Change Advisory Board. This board meets once every two weeks to discuss of potential enhancements that could be implemented in order to improve the product. When these improvements are done though, there is no way to monitor the creation of the cost for what concerns the spare parts of the new configuration. My goal was to actually find a way to create a costing process when there is an implementation of a new configuration. Therefore, after an introduction of the company, the department and the Change Advisory Board, the thesis develops the implementation of the project, from the description of the process up to the steps made in order to generate a solution. Eventually, it also contains a case study that, in an abstract way, explains what the company might do to totally reshape the process and brings much more benefits. |
