Software License Compliance Services. Compliance verification tools and a quantitative study on software Piracy in Italy

This study is related to the software industry, specifically the license compliance side. The thesis will give an overall sight on the software industry focusing on the software IP and the business model built around it, then a large description will describe the background of the research that is the license compliance. Compliance will be faced in a descriptive way first and a quantitative one later looking at both the worldwide business and the Italian one that is the market of the final study. The research will be then explained starting from the data available that is unique thanks to an internship in a software company and after the description of the tools and methodology used a bigger space will be given to the final statistical results.
